Vito Genna

As a highly trained professional, with over twenty years of performance expertise, Vito Genna has been playing guitar since the age of twelve. His studies included classical guitar with William Zito and flamenco guitar with Dennis Koster and earned his degree in Music from Hofstra University. Vito also has extensively studied flamenco culture and continues to explore various flamenco palo/forms as well as cante, baile and toque of which traditional flamenco is based upon.

Vito has developed a core repertoire of his own music for flamenco and classical guitar. His original compositions are based on the traditional flamenco forms such as rumba and buleria, as well as other Latin influenced styles such as tango, salsa, and clave rhythms. Vito’s repertoire also consists of more traditional Spanish guitar compositions from well-known composers as well as popular favorites from Jazz, Latin and Classic Rock and which Vito arranges with a touch of flamenco aire.

Vito performs both as a soloist, with Flamenco dancers, called FUERZA FLAMENCA, and with Latin percussionist Benny Arocho. Vito also performs with a variety of local musicians such as Saxophonist Julian Herrero among a few. Vito is working on a Jazz/Flamenco project where elements of flamenco and Jazz co-mingle to produce a unique tapestry of exciting and unique musical elements, duo/trio called GIPSY STRINGS.

Vito has performed at many locations and events in New York City and Long island. He has performed at many events such as; the Belmont Park Corona Lite Latin Festival, The Long Island Hispanic Network, Queen Sophia Spanish Institute, and has performed for prestigious jewelry designer Carerra y Carerra and various NYC fashion week events to name a few. Benny Arocho has been studying & playing percussion for over 30 years now. He's performed with several local bands over the years that have opened for the Moody Blues, Yes, Bobby Blue Bland, James Brown and has performed with The Sugarhill Gang, Tone Loc and Bakithi Kumalo, (Paul Simon's bassist on Graceland), and with Derrick Davis from (The Lion King), Mohamadu Salieu Suso, Baye Kouyate, Baba Ola Ja Gun, Kaleta as well as many others.

Having a solid foundation in African music, his rythms fit into just about any musical genre naturally.

Has performed with African, Rock, Jazz, Salsa, Cumbia, Mediterranean, Blues & Flamenco bands.

Lisa Adele Nazli: Flamenco Dancer

Lisa Adele Nazli has extensive performing and teaching experience. Her dance education began at an early age with the study of ballet, tap, and jazz. She has also performed, studied, and taught modern, African, Latin, ballroom, Middle Eastern, Spanish dance and flamenco.

Lisa specializes in flamenco and Spanish dance and has studied with Jose Molina, Neli Tirado, Omayra Amaya, Sonia Olla and Ismael Fernandez and Maria Loreta. Lisa performed for eleven years with Eva Lucena’s company, Alborada Spanish Dance Theater, in concert halls, theaters, schools, festivals, libraries, and nursing homes. Also, she has performed in various venues in and around New York City and Long Island. Currently, she studies and performs Xianix Barrera Flamenco. In October, 2021, Lisa was a Flamenco Certamen USA finalist and performed at Lincoln Center.

Lisa has appeared in such musicals as "Camelot", "Carousel", "1776", "Brigadoon", "Anything Goes" and many variety shows as a featured dancer and singer. She has performed with several dance companies, including the Hudson Valley Dance Theater, Dondines Dancers, CW Post Concert Dance Company, and Alborada Spanish Dance Theater of New Jersey.

Lisa is an English as a Second Language teacher and a New York State certified dance teacher, working daily to bring dance and flamenco to children and audiences of all ages.

Leslie Carmen: Flamenco Dancer

Leslie Carmen was born and raised in Brooklyn from parents of Puerto Rican descent that enjoyed watching fiery flamenco on TV and in NYC venues, and they passed down this passion to her.  She has studied flamenco off and on for over two decades with Jose Molina, Jorge Navarro, and Maria Loreta of Sol y Sombra Dance Company.  She has performed in various venues on Long Island and has taught flamenco to children ages 5-13 in Westbury. The passion of sharing this riveting dance form with audiences at weddings, parks, nursing homes, libraries, schools, and restaurants continues as she joins Fuerza Flamenca.
